This past week has been AMAZING! Each night, we have had as many as 50-60 kids filling the halls of the church with laughter, shouts of praise, and singing. It was wonderful to see so many kids and all of the volunteers working with them. It was wonderful to see the adult Sunday School classes and women’s groups that came and served dinners each night. It was wonderful to see our kids get excited about supporting the mission project for the week — providing Classroom Clinics at Royston Elementary School (the kids brought in over 200 supplies and over $300). The entire week was excellent and “far beyond all that we could ask or imagine,” (Ephesians 3:20). When you see Heather Woods, please be sure to tell her how awesome this week has been.
Kids and families are important part of our church and our community. Events such as VBS are fun, but they are also important mission work. When we talk about “making disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus,” our young people represent a mission field with amazing potential. As we wrap up our series this Sunday, we will be talking about the importance of the next generation and our role as missionaries to the next generation.
Have a great weekend and I look forward to being with you on Sunday at 8:45 and 11:00!
Glory to God,
Matt
P.S. Don’t forget about the One Royston Community Hymn Sing on Sunday night at 6 PM in our Sanctuary. The Rev. Bobby Berryman (Ruckers Grove Baptist Church) will be our speaker, and we will sing some of our favorite hymns led by Karen Smith, Barbara Gandy, and the Rev. William Deal (RoystonBaptist Church). Following the service, we will have an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite home made ice cream to share.
