I am excited to share with you that we have many wonderful events and programs lined up for our Royston Kids Ministry, and we are looking forward to welcoming new kids into our church. Here’s a quick snapshot at some of what’s happening with kids at Royston First UMC:
Vacation Bible School (July 30-August 1)
We are preparing for about 50 kids at this year’s Vacation Bible School! If you have not signed up and want to be part of VBS, check out the information below.
Snow Cones at Royston Elementary School for Open House
On Tuesday, August 7, we will have volunteers at Royston Elementary School to pass out snow cones to kids as they come for Open House from 4:00-7:00 PM. If you would like to help with this outreach, please e-mail me.
Movie on the Lawn (August 10)
We are inviting kids from the church and community to come enjoy a movie on the lawn on Friday, August 10, beginning at 7:30 PM. We will watch “The Incredibles” and enjoy free popcorn and popsicles.
Kids Leading in Worship
Beginning August 5, our children and youth will be more active leading in worship. We are looking for acolytes, scripture readers, and more in each of the services. If you are interested in helping, send me an e-mail or let me know.
Sunday School and Children’s Church
We have made improvements to our kid’s Sunday School and Children’s Church for both services. We are still looking for some additional volunteers and would love to create a rotation. If you are interested in helping with either of these areas, you can contact Janet Brown (Sunday School) or Sallie Watkins (Children’s Church).
