WHAT IS THE FRONT PORCH?

The Front Porch with Matt Parker is the weekly radio ministry of Royston First United Methodist Church. The program airs locally in Royston on WLOV 100.3 at 1:00 PM every Sunday. During the program, Matt shares the weekly message that is preached at the worship services of Royston First UMC that morning.

The Front Porch started in the spring of 2020 as a radio program to help us stay connected during the COVID health pandemic.

WHY IS IT CALLED THE FRONT PORCH?

The Front Porch gets it name from two inspirations. First, the front porch of a house is often where people meet together and gather to share stories as they grow closer to each other. Our hope is that you will grow closer to Jesus as you hear stories told from scripture. Second, there is an illustration commonly used to describe God’s grace that portrays the front porch of a house as the grace of God that draws us into a deeper relationship. Our prayer is that everyone who gathers together on The Front Porch will experience God’s grace as they grow in their relationship with Christ.

Right now, the radio program is in the early stages and it is simply our weekly message shared by Matt Parker. In the future, we may look to add guest spots and additional programming.
