This is a strange time in our world’s history, and we realize that many people may be feeling hopeless with all that is happening with the COVID-19 pandemic. Easter is a time we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from death, and we believe that we can experience hope in our lives today because of the Resurrection!

Here are few quick things to know about celebrating Easter Online at Royston First UMC:

  • If you are new to online worship (or virtual worship), you may want to visit our Virtual Worship page for tips on how to fully engage in your worship experience. We believe worship is not something we just watch, but it is something in which we participate.
  • Like all of our virtual worship experiences, we encourage you to have a second device (smart phone, tablet, computer, etc.) close by during your worship. Throughout the service, you will be prompted to respond using your secondary device.
  • As you experience God at Royston First UMC, we invite you to share your experience with others through social media. Please be sure to use our hashtag, #EasterAtRoyston, so we can help share your experience.
  • If you have any questions during your worship experience online, please feel free to contact us for help. We consider ourselves a friendly bunch of people and would like to help serve you in your virtual worship experience.

Plan Your Virtual Worship Experience

HOW DO I VIEW THE WORSHIP EXPERIENCE?
The worship experience is available on YouTube. You can view the service on any computer, smart phone, tablet, or TV that includes a YouTube app.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?
Our Sunday morning services typically last about one hour and five minutes. We start by singing three to four songs. Then our pastor shares an inspirtational message based upon a reading from scripture.

If you’re worshiping with us for the first time, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to find our website and get situated. You are important to us and we would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Don’t feel like you have to dress up…it’s your house! We do encourage you to prepare yourself for worship by changing out of your pajamas. But we won’t judge you if you decide to worship in your pajamas. Besides, we will never know. Please feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable.

CAN I ATTEND IF I’M ____________?
Go ahead and fill in the blank with whatever fear you have about not being accepted: divorced, single parent, broke, recovering addict, gay, atheist, skeptic, etc. At Royston First UMC, we believe that every person matters to God and all are welcome. No matter where you are in life, we have a place for you!

For the Entire Family

FAMILY WORSHIP FOR CHILDREN AGES 5 AND UP
Easter is such an important day for all Christians to come together to worship, and we feel that our children should be included in the worship experience so that families can experience the joy, wonder, and excitement of Easter together. During the virtual worship experience, we will include a Children’s Moment with our Director of Kids’ Ministry, Heather Woods. This time of worship will include a Bible story for your children along with a craft. We are excited about this opportunity!
